It was established in the year 1992 under the
name of the Personal Status Prosecution. Its
objective was to follow-up and control the funds
of minors, interdicts and absentees, and orient
those concerned by investing these funds under
the supervision of the competent court.
In the year 2001 it was added to its
jurisdiction, representing the Government of
Dubai and its local public administrations,
institutions and organizations before the civil
courts in all stages of the litigation whether
by instituting civil cases against third persons
or by defending the local administrations,
institutions and organizations if sued before
the civil courts. The civil prosecution is
composed of a Chief prosecutor assisted by three
members.
