Dubai Public Prosecution provides e- services first of its kind in the region

The Dubai Public Prosecution has been made great strides in applying the highest quality standards to provide excellent services to all audience, whether its staff or the customer.

 

highlighted the successful experience in the technology area which became an essential part of the DPP daily work procedures, and has received praise from HH. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to achieve milestone in online services to handle many cases which was submitted by staff, customers and lawyers.

 

 

A statement by Mr. Abdulla Almarri, Director of IT Department at Dubai Public Prosecution, that a dedicated budget is allocated for the IT services supported by strategic plan is concerning all the feedback and suggestions by the chiefs prosecutors, then will nominate the best studies results and select the best plan, which will be referred to the Attorney General for approval.

 

 

He added: “ All the projects is based on strategic objective, in order to avoid all the random projects, a special studies for all the section's needs, we measure an added value results and reports before launching the services , the following is the Interview questions:

 

Can you give us brief about the IT department at Dubai Public Prosecution?

 

The IT department has already started at Dubai Public Prosecution in 1995,  especially in the cases management and e- investigation, report printing, to avoid spelling mistakes, then we introduced the online services to the customer service department, after that we developed it as per the lawyer''s inquiry, to keep pace with the latest technology.

 

 

We communicate with all management department to provide them with the technical support, where they get benefit from the latest feedback about new entry service. And measure the value of this added service.

 

Dubai Public Prosecution is securing the customer's  comfort by implementing the quality control and enhance the work procedures, speed up the service, for example, there is no application forms required to be filled by the customer, we are always keen to enhance the online services by checking the service, enhance it and measure the performance index.

 

 

What does Dubai Public Prosecution is offering the customer's on its portal?

 

 

The online portal provides 85 services, there is a range of online services that concerned to speed up the work procedures,  as is the first of its kind in the region, such as the lawyer online service, which includes a booklet to explain all the online lawyers services, where they can register a case online,  check the case's information from his office. We always arranged a regular training courses for the lawyers and take into the consideration, their feedback and suggestions to enhance the service.

 

 

Can you describe the new online services that has been recently introduced by DPP?

 

 

The I-phone applications, all the chief prosecutors and lawyers, can browse the information in seconds, where they found list of the basics laws, and they can connect with the DPP online portal to check the latest information of any case,  answering the customer's inquires to speed up the process. The I-phone has been chosen as the professional internal communications tool .

 


Do you have any new projects to be launched soon?

 

 

We are in the process to launch the new online system which contains all the informations related to identity national card, it is assumed to be distributed in every strategic location,   such as DPP offices, Dubai Police stations, Dubai Court, General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs-Dubai, which are frequented visited places by customers.

 

To what extent is the progress to implement the online service in DPP and what is the percentage of shifting  online?

 

 

 According to the last quarter results, the online shifting was 100% based on the latest evaluation by Dubai e- government, the completion online percentage is 86% .

 

In general, all the procedures is developed online, specially the judicial procedure.

 



 

What are the IT awards and certificates which DPP is seeking to obtain them?

 

 

We are seeking to obtain the ISO 27001 IT security, we pursue a strategy to reach global standards by implementing the online e-services, data security.

 

 

Is there any skills exchange between DPP and other governmental department?

 

 

 We are working in line with the latest technology development, to raise the standard level of our services and improve our internal system, we are looking forward to establish new services for the embassies, in order to categorize the cases as per the nationality, We always  exchange skills and ideas by delegations and visitors from different government sectors and other countries in the Arab World, and as per the survey we have achieved good results regrading to latest technology implemented in DPP.

 

 

Can you tell us more about data exchange ?

 

 

We have lots of data exchange with our strategic partnership like the Dubai Police, Courts, we submit the case online, to secure and speed up the process,  secure all the data entry, for example all the ruling is been done online, we do exchange information with Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs-Dubai to avoid similarity name confusion, with Dubai court we exchange data and reports,  other government sector such as RTA , Traffic, ambulance services, we also link between all those organizations online to keep the confidentiality and cases security .

 

 

In emergency, How do you deal with any technical failures ?

 

 

Its our duties as IT director to ensure other alternatives solutions to customers and employees, in case of any internal system's failure. We have back up for all data and stored records in case of any online failure might occur. We are willing  to develop the e-investigation through encrypted saving module.

Dubai Public Prosecution has recently launched the new “ Follow up “ System to provide data security and prevent files loss, this tracking system is avoiding exchange data in non-authorized places, it is also include alert sound system in case of any  damage or missing files intentionally or by mistakes.

 

 

The system consists a hidden piece inside the file case, the reader device is placed in the offices, corridors, exits and main entrance of DPP to be able to read the file .

 

 

There is other benefits provided by the system which is report printing, the movement of the case file, with a sound alert for the chief prosecutor to monitor the file's location.

 

The sections of IT department:

 

 

The IT department contains 3 sections, all those sections is linked to a basic system, the 3 sections are : e- services, includes the online portal and customer's service such as : case' s information, ruling timing, cases judge, register new application, lawyer's online services, women counsel forum where they share ideas and exchange information among the members.

 


The networking section and IT support is responsible about the infrastructure, is formed by expertise IT team.

 

 

The last section is the business and software development management to enhance all the latest online services.
